Each series has connected consequences or not? The exception, of course, are series like The Simpsons, American Dad, Family Guy etc…

At The Mentalist it is e.g. So that the framing act is very weakly integrated and works towards the finale only, while the main content of the series is solving cases. In the case of Peaky Blinders, however, the background story is very much involved and has the most presence in the episodes.
