How do I quickly learn to play a mini-keyboard from 0-100 without any experience of it, because I can't read music and I do not know how & where to start?

The problem with me is that…

I have never played keyboard only as a child maybe short and I can't read music, or do not understand it.

The main reason why I'm so interested in this is

because I like to listen to music (for years, always) music, Rap / HipHop engl. Or BTS & Anime Theme or fights the backgroundmusic (bgm) and almost everyone, generally I like the background music (bgm).

Therefore, I thought, maybe there would be a hobby / passion to play it through keyboard, because I have no real hobby, except (WWE watch, Netflix, listening to music, a bit of fitness).

Have few friends and they all have a passion, e.g. Cars / fitness, off and on I feel alone and I'm manic-depressive when I'm alone, without you and the worst: I have no special talents.

How many years will it take me to be as good as this guy on YouTube? →

Would like to ask for advice regarding which keyboard / mini-keyboard I should buy, maybe something similar here, what else do I need to buy, except a mini-keyboard? → https://shop.musix.ch/de/Akai-MPKmini-Mk2-171465.html

What do you think is it a good idea to start with or is there another hobby?

My goal is to stop playing songs, because it looks kind of cool and then I would post them to Instagram as well as some other musicians to share their success.

I do not intend to become a producer because I have to look at my career sooner!

I would be happy about your private chats, at any rate tips and tricks I would get from experienced keyboard players. Thank you in advance of all comments.

P.S. Coming from Switzerland, Zurich is currently unemployed after my LAP and may want to take advantage of this to learn something new.

You do not have to learn the notes to play the songs. All you have to memorize is the sequence of keys you have to press.

Start with one hand with small loops. There are many tutorials on YouTube. Often the sound sequences are not so complicated and consist of only a few notes. Make stickers on the buttons, colored or with numbers.

Ca

Do not buy a scrap like that, sry. If you really want to learn to buy a keyboard with 49 keys, better still 61 or even 88 and weighted. I'm also not going to play it just start practicing hand sets and starting small. By the way, always learn a little theory. If you do that and have fun with it, then you can teach yourself very well and that with 22. And you can be producer, you do not have to be full time professional. But please do not buy such a part and then just play it. I can also advise you which keyboard is good, etc

Ca

I would never start that way

Fr

What are loops?

Ca

He writes that his goal is to replay songs to show to friends or post on social media. He does not want to become a composer (yet) but just play songs. Of course he can now deal with the theory for a few years and repeat sentences x times until he can read music, but he can do that as well if he thinks he cares.

Ca

Loops are simple melodies, small melodies of 8 or 16/32 tones. Something like The melody behind a chorus that always repeats itself.

Fr

You know, the reason I thought I chose the AKAI Professional MPK Mini is that I can play it outside, maybe during the holidays, and it's handy to carry in hand, since I'm also 1.69m I'm big.

What do you mean by practicing hand sets, what does that mean & would this mini keyboard not be practical, or what is the disadvantage with 25 keys compared to the others with multiple keys?

Ca

Even if he wants to re-enact songs, he needs a certain foundation. And who says that for years you have to learn theory first. So I've been playing the piano for 6 years and taught myself everything. I always connected the two. And that works pretty well. I can now, for example, But even if the questioner only wants to play songs… Then he can only do the simplest. In such as Bruno Mars, etc. Then you need a lot more knowledge

Ca

Well, if you really want to learn keyboard, then you play with 2 hands. When I was still playing Pop songs, I used a 61-key keyboard. But now I have an 88 weighted E piano. Well and of course you can take it with you then ned just about everywhere. But you can also practice at home or play in a band (if you are already so good). But for me that sounds more like you just wanted to do it a bit as a gimmick

Fr

I would really like to play, but then I thought again that I would like to take it outside in the open, like a handbag like that, it looks cooler and can be taken anywhere.

How do you come to the fact that I consider it as a gimmick, now as I said, just my idea, is it easy that I would like to re-enact the songs?

Ca

No, because you say that you want to do it, because it looks cool. That should not be the motivation. The guy in the YT video is not good. Everyone can learn this within 1-2 days.

This is how you play piano / keyboard. So if you are really serious then buy yourself a 61 or 88 key keyboard and then start small. Just look for a teacher. Then you have 10000 times easier

Fr

Well, I also thought of becoming a Vlt keyboard teacher, part-time in future, to teach people the basics and little things. But then again I find these little patches have these patches and you can take them outside too, do you understand what I mean? The best would be ambidextrous, but to take outside with you in the outdoors would be something.

Can anyone really do that within just 2 days?

How many times a week would it be necessary for me, as a completely inexperienced, to attend a keyboard course?

Ca

To become a keyboard teacher you need more than 7 years experience and have to be good. If you really want to do right, then a real keyboard. Just check the internet for keyboar teachers. It's best to do this once a week and have one-to-one lessons. And then, of course, practice every day

Fr

Woah 7 years, your serious phew! Which keyboard would you recommend to me? Preferably one, where you can also replay this patch, so backgroundmusic rap / hip hop & theme. How long did it take you to get it under control?

Ca

Well I started to learn simple songs and incidentally I taught myself the theory. Well HipHop you can't learn much because that's always the same thing. Start with simple film music or something. I use the Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol s88 mk1

Fr

In what way "more knowledge" do you mean?

Ca

Well how to move the hands properly, etc

Fr

I was in a keyboard class today and I also mentioned what I prefer to do in backgroundmusic in tones. The problem with you not having the right experience and I do not know how to help. She says that there will be free space again from January 2020, but what good is it for me if she has no experience and the other keyboard courses are way too expensive? Should I order an Akai Keyboard online in advance? Have seen one 70CHF costs & he lives near me: https://www.ricardo.ch/de/a/akai-mpk-mini-professional-1081651788/ + still has to pay attention to my 2nd training, starting at the end of October.

Ca

No buy the ned. When you learn keyboard, you can easily play stuff like that. But if you buy such a mini keyboard and press a few keys and then call yourself a keyboard player, everyone laughs at you. Quite simply, if you want to learn properly, then correct keyboard lessons with theory and a larger keyboard. If you just want to play around a bit then such an Akai thing

Fr

Well, I just want to play it technically to play some bgm songs. At first, I thought I'd become a keyboard teacher, but then again, I do not have much time for training and that takes years of investment and other responsibilities. That's why, as a pastime, I thought I'd try something and bgm I'm interested in the moment and probably think that this might also be my passion, just re-play songs. Do I have to install software music to play like this creator?

Ca

Define Backgroundmusic first. This is not a genre

Fr

Just the background music, the sound of the melody in Rap / Hip Hop or songs in general

Ca

This is not called backgroundmusic but just melody. At Bgm one thinks more of film music or something. But please hit the idea to become a keyboard teacher. Because you then only other people play the game. It's like being a physicist and wanting to travel to Mars tomorrow. If you want to play hip hop, that's not great art. But usually you catch an instrument to get better and better. Do what you feel like, then please also call yourself ned as a musician or keyboardist. Rap is pretty much the easiest thing to play because there's not much variety, etc. By the way, the song in the video is a pop song

Fr

I realize that you are a bit pissed off, but you have to understand that I do it as a hobby, nothing else. But do I need, in order to be able to play, a music software in PC or otherwise for special skills & knowledge / does that go alone on the keyboard?

Ca

I'm not pissed, I'm just giving you some advice

Fr

Back to my question, I've seen that some instrument players have this music software, so would I have to install it so I can play something like the guy in YouTube?

Ca

Depends on. If the keyboard has no samples, you have to buy some. And then a DAW would need synonymous

Fr

Samples and DAW could you explain to me what exactly that means and what this is necessary for, or do I really need it, just to sound like a hobby as in YouTube? Sry am a complete beginner of 0 just now.

I would like to buy this one here, he also lives next to me: https://www.ricardo.ch/de/a/akai-mpk-mini-professional-1081651788/

Ca

Google myself. Is too much to write now
