Since I'm not technically skilled, I hope to get help here.
I have a Sky subscription through Telekom Entertain and wanted to test the Sky Bundesliga UHD channel on Saturday.
Unfortunately, that was not possible, or a message came up stating that the bandwidth would be too low.
I was a little surprised because I have no problems with UHD streaming on Netflix and Co. The Netflix app also runs on Entertain.
What could that be? My media receiver is currently connected to the router via Dlan Devolo 500. The 500 Mbit / s should be enough, right?
A correct LAN connection of a structural nature is not possible.
The fact that you have a 500mbit adapter says nothing about how large the bandwidth actually is.
Devolo offers (as far as I know) its own monitoring software. Is called cockpit or something like that.
You can see to some extent what the bandwidths are.
UHD should need 50 MBit somewhere.
You can test stream via LAN. The cable can hang around like that, or you can put the entertain receiver somewhere else.
You can test stream via LAN.
That's right, I could test it.
As a supplementary question: Can I basically test the bandwidth of the router / connection somehow (apart from the Devolo app)?
The simplest would be to copy a file between PCs at the two endpoints. You can have the bandwidth displayed by the operating system.
The most suitable would be the Devolo tool itself. Otherwise, you're more at overkill stories.
Thank you very much.
I tested it yesterday and come up with just under 46 Mbit / s, which is probably a little too little for UHD. Deutsche Telekom unfortunately does not offer more than a 50Mbit line, but I was recommended to test the better Devolo DLan 1200+.
Just take a look. Switching to Vodafone (which at least offer a 200Mbit line) is out of the question for me.
Jo, you're more on the lower limit.
You can try out the new kits from Devolo. It can really be that they can do it better.
The new Devolo kit has unfortunately brought nothing in terms of UHD.
