What is the difference between SAO and SAO 2?

I wanted to look at Netflix SAO but then I noticed there are two parts and wanted to know the difference.

SAO II is the sequel.

It's just the different seasons and thus the continuation of the previous season.

Season 1: Sword Art Online
Season 2: Sword Art Online II
Season 3: Sword Art Online: Alicization
