Why is blackwashing so often in newer series?

A while ago the Netflix series "A Letter for the King" came out and of course there was blackfacing again. The action takes place in the Middle Ages, but the main protagonist is a black noble.

The blacks in the Middle Ages could be counted on one hand and there were certainly no noble blacks. Why do serial providers always rely on blackfacing? Why is history falsified?

Because maybe it's not a historically accurate series? It will definitely not be marketed as such

The series can be found on Netflix under the heading "History" and the plot otherwise takes place entirely in the Middle Ages.

I don't have the lead role in a cat series with dogs either.

Except: dogs are trending right now and it therefore brings in more money

Nice try.

As far as I know, the series is an adaptation of a youth novel and not a history novel and the series does not have the right to be correct. So I can't explain which story is falsified.
