I know the case is a bit old but has been renewed a bit by the netflix documentation. I still don't understand how exactly she died. It should have been an accident that is clear to me, but why did she even climb into the water tank? And why did she undress in the water tank? And better to ask why did she act so strange in the elevator?

Apparently she was also hallucinating, that is, she should have seen something while she was in the elevator and therefore behaved so strangely. That she was naked in the water tank was explained by the fact that people try to close themselves more easily when they threaten to drown. It's harder to swim with clothes on, without it you could have lasted longer.

She had suffered from bipolar disorder for many years. While she was at the hotel, she did not take her medication properly, causing her to suffer from psychosis. A psychologist analyzed her behavior in the surveillance video from the elevator and came to the conclusion that she showed very typical behavior of such a sick person. As a rule, such people often have delusions, paranoia and hallucinations. So she apparently ran away from something that wasn't there. She took refuge on the roof and looked for a place to hide. Her sister testified that in such situations she always hid under the bed. So it is quite logical that the water tank was very suitable for her in the situation. She climbed up, jumped in, and then couldn't get to the opening and drowned.
