I bought the game (the witcher 3) because it's just nice and because of the netflix series and I wonder if I should play the game or watch the series or it just doesn't matter
Play it first
The series starts long before the game. However, once you've played the game, getting into the series is somehow easier, I think personally.
The first season of the series is like the first season of game of thrones. A great pilot.
Accordingly, you would not experience much anyway. Except the acquaintance story of Geralt and jennefer.
The series is based on the books. The game has its own story.
But you should have played the second part of the game series.
In general I can recommend the complete game series, book series as well as the Netflix series.

No, the Witcher 1 has little to do technically.
But both really great and good games. Not expensive at the moment and definitely a recommendation that you play them instead of pulling in the game play
