Gaming monitor?

I need a gaming monitor but I also want to watch Netflix often.
Play from time to time Rainbow or Battlefield V but mostly AC, Sea of Thieves, Monster Hunter World…
1. Monitor
WQHD, 4ms, 144hz, 31.5 inches, VA panel.
-
2. Monitor
4k, 4ms, 60hz, 32 inches, VA panel.

El

I would take the first one. Wqhd is completely sufficient and 144hz make a difference.

Fo

Well, 4K for Netflix would also be nice

Ka

The best would be one with 1ms response time and 24 inches. But if you also want to watch Netflix, it would of course be better if you had more inches. You should of course have 1ms reaction time to gamble, because it would be good. But if you don't gamble that much and just do it on the side to drive away a bit of boredom, then you don't necessarily need it.

Te

I would tend to go with a 144hz, 24 "HD monitor. Depending on the situation, you might get problems with the performance. Furthermore, 31" is too big for my taste, because you lose the overview. 4ms is ok, but not really great.

El

Yes, it's up to you what is more important to you.

If you gamble more and only watch Netflix sometimes, WQHD is more than enough.

144hz is almost a basic requirement for gaming, I think.

Te

I find it unnecessary. 144hz is a much more blatant difference.

Fo

Performance issues? What do you think?

Fo

Okay thanks.

an

But for Netflix, IPS is better.

4k doesn't do your 2070S well anyway.

El

Yes. 2 and 4 k make a difference, but is not as blatant as 60 to 144 Hz.

And WQHD is awesome

Fo

4k would then stop for Netflix would play on WQHD or FHD anyway.

an

It would not look good on WQHD because of the scaling and FullHD is too pixelated on 32 ".

Fo

Okay thanks.

Lu

Can your hardware run 4k? If not definitely the 144hz monitor, it makes everything appear much smoother.

And if it did: I would still take the 144hz monitor.

Fo

Well 2070S, Ryzen 7 3700X but the 4k would be more for Netflix, when gaming I would go down to WQHD.

Te

Your graphics card must be able to provide a frame every 1 / 144s. Depending on the game, this is difficult with WQHD.

Fo

RTX 2070S and a Ryzen 7 3700X should definitely do WQHD. 4K would be more for Netflix.

Te

The question is whether WQHD AND 144hz runs smoothly and with little latency. (I don't know the answer to this question. I only know that it takes a lot of effort)
