I would like to buy an iPad 2019 (7th generation), which I would like to use primarily for school. I would definitely download Netflix and YouTube, too, but since I only watch it at home anyway, I don't have to download anything.
Since my budget is not so high I would either buy 32gb plus Apple Pencil or at 128GB only the iPad without Apple Pencil. What storage capacity would you recommend to me in my case?
32 GB are sufficient for school. The Apple Pencil would be pretty handy for that.
I'm on the other hand for more storage space. Nothing is more annoying than when it is missing. I made the very mistake of my first iPad back then. If an iPhone is added that is even faster, you should also consider how important regular backups are.
You can still buy the pencil.
I have the same thing with 128gb. Despite the high surcharge, I would recommend that with 128gb because what do you do when the 32gb get full? If you then download Netflix movies, the memory will fill up faster. Everything you would like. And even for school things, my opinion is 32gb too little.
"When 64GB is no longer enough." But let's go one step further:
Most of the storage space on the iPad is usually used for photos / videos, films, music and apps. It probably doesn't make sense to pack 128GB full of music or photos. Apps won't need a lot of memory either. Movies and TV shows, on the other hand, are very memory intensive, especially in HD quality. If you plan to watch entire seasons of TV shows or many feature films on the iPad, then 128GB are certainly not wrong.
Therefore, you have to weigh which files you absolutely need on the iPad and how much storage space you need accordingly. Unfortunately there's no general answer.
Would rather take the iPad Air because it has 64 GB of memory (which is perfect for your needs. 128 is a bit too much), a much better display and a much better performance. The 60 Euro surcharge from the 128 gb iPad to the Air is worth something. And you can buy the pencil later if you have money again. You will be satisfied with the Air for many years.
