May my landlord cancel me because I'm using too much internet?

I live in a private dorm. I Netflix 4k / youtube / downloade steam games relatively much and also stream from time to time. In my dorm, 20 other people are still and we have a 50,000 line from the telecom.

My roommates have found out that I'm the one who takes the lead a lot and therefore they wanted to ask me if I could restrict my behavior.

In my lease is no special clause regarding the Internet use.

Now the question is, may the landlord / property manager actually restrict me? I would understand if you make the 50K line divided by number of residents so that everyone has the same power.

But would he have the right to quit or restrict me?

Ne

A dorm is not an apartment.

So the general tenant protection laws do not apply. If the roommates complain, you will probably have to pay a higher usage fee.

You can also give notice. Obviously you're not so sure about studying there. And dormitories are reserved for students.

Forgot to mention: this is a private dorm and I'm not a student either. I'm already working

Also, there was no contract or anything else where it stood, as I use the Internet.

It seems you are a little antisocial, do not respond as requested to requests and friendly speech, and now expect to be fired. To your reassurance: probably the landlord may not denounce you because you are stealing the bandwidth of the whole house.

But if the Internet access is not part of the contract, I would lock in his place the network access for your devices, so that your roommates not all cancel.

St

Perfect, then pay for it yourself. That's how it looks like Schnorren.

Co

But then he should also charge any additional costs for the Internet and I should be up. To get a 10 percent rental fee right? I'm not afraid to be fired. Is just a general question that I just wanted to clarify.

Co

Would I like if I could get my own line. Is technically not possible with us.

Mo

No, why?

There's the ground for termination "disturbance of the house peace". I guess on the basis of a termination would be possible. You disturb the house peace through your selfish internet behavior.

You do not make friends with your behavior. You do not seem to want to change your "Internet behavior". That because of your excessive Internet use the other not even have a 1,000 DSL available, does not show consideration. You are not alone in the world

You are lucky that I do not live there. I would do it with the others if you did not understand and write a small batch file that will keep downloading a large file on all of your roommate's 19 computers. Once finished, it will be deleted and reloaded. Then I would look how long you can stand that until you einlenkst, because then you can forget netflix 4k.

It will not kill you if you do not watch 4k streams, just normal HD.

There's a house rules I have signed. In it is everything from garbage to the garden, but no regulation to the Internet. Since I always pay my rent on time and otherwise is not a troublemaker, it should not be a disturbance of the house peace? I pay the additional costs for the Internet. There's nowhere in the contract how much I can benefit.

Concerning. The Batch File: If so, then the others have no Internet anymore. I'm relatively sure that I could survive it even without netflix 4k, but why should I give it up if I pay my contracted amount and have the necessary hardware purchased? If someone made that out of revenge, I could understand it. I have an IT affinity and could overcome your download trick.

Pa

It's important to me that everyone is fine, not just me. You are all the same no matter as long as your needs are met. If they can't even do their study-related stuff online, because you want to see netflix 4k, then you do not care. It would not be me.

In the house rules is also nothing of "disturbance of the house peace". That's in the laws. In the house rules is certainly not synonymous that you can't steal your housemates or kill. This is not necessary because there are laws for it.

Then the property management should stop n smart ITler order and limit each inhabitant his fixed speed. Then there would be no possibility on my part to exploit this. We all depend on a switch that can be configured for each port.

Pa

What would mean that you would permanently have only a 2.500er DSL. Would that be desirable?

The best would be a dynamic solution that distributes the bandwidth evenly to everyone who is online. So if 2 are on everyone gets 25,000 and if 10 are on everyone gets 5,000, etc. Whether that is so feasible, but I do not know. Theoretically sure, but sometimes the hardware does not work.
