I have a 16000 line and the fritzbox 7362SL. Previously I had a PC with a wireless card and online games habeb worked perfectly. Now I have bought a new PC and had the Fritzbox ac 860 wlanstick. This was complete for the barrel as our router is on the ground floor and I live on the 1st floor. Now I had bought myself dlan, but unfortunately our house is still from the post-war period and we have bad lines (dlan lives on good). That was probably nothing. Now my last hope is a Wi-Fi card. The Asus ac-88. Mostly my ping is at 23. But as soon as somebody turns on Netflix it goes up to 80-120 which is not playable. Why is that and how can I fix it? Lankabel is excluded because my parents are against it.
Lankabel must be.
Is the installation from the postwar period, I would anyway think about a complete renovation including counter cabinet thinking. In addition, you can also provide network cables in the house…
otherwise: what would be against talking about drilling a hole through the ceiling, in such an old house there are usually no lines there, and if it does, it is relatively predictable.
DLAN and WLAN stick (with bad antennas) you have already tried.
Since a wireless USB adapter with ordinary external antennas would be the better choice.
This one is definitely good:
The thing is all works (20ms) even if meibe sister youtube peeks and while gambling on the pc online. But as soon as someone turns on the tv and netflix or Amazon prime looks my ping goes up to 90. I do not understand that. Do serial apps really wan so much?
Thank you! Have now ordered the asus pce ac-88 wlan card. It has 4 fat antennas and should receive maximum reception.
The FritzBox 7362SL can only 3x3 WLAN at 2.4 GHz and only the n-standard.
3x3 means 3 streams (= 3 antennas) per 150 Mbit / s gross at the same time. In total, that's 450 MBit / s gross.
450 MBit / s Gross is net (= user data) about 50% of it in the best reception conditions (directly on the router). Unfortunately, the 7362SL can't do more. The 7362SL can't handle the fast ac standard 5 GHz, is useful at close range, farther away, the n standard is better, because of the better range.
Your Asus ac-88 is a little under-challenged, but the ac-88 will certainly get the most out of the 7362SL.
Tip: Use the included extension of the ac-88 to optimally place the 4 antennas, preferably free-standing, with no metal obstacles (PC cases, radiators, sheet metal doors, metal shelves, …) on the imaginary straight line to the router.
The router should also be raised and set up freestanding.
If the reception still weakens, just put the router tilted by 45 or 90 degrees, can significantly contribute to improving the reception.
Aligning all antennas of the ac-88 diagonally in different directions also helps. Do not let the antenna tip point to the router, that's the worst alignment, because antennas radiate best with the long side. The ac-88 will use the strongest 3 of the 4 antennas for the connection to FritzBox.
Conclusion: A card with 3 antennas would have been enough. You only need max. 16 Mbps, more gives your DSL line not her.
Have again read all your statements and comments.
You write down as soon as Netflix or Amazon Prime runs somewhere, your ping goes up. The bottleneck is certainly the too short DSL line. 16 Mbps is really the minimum to stream movies. Only 1 movie in SD requires about 10 Mbps. A movie in HD requires more than 20-30 Mbit / s. If you then want to gamble at the same time, the DSL line is at the stop.
It used to work? Was "earlier" simultaneously streamed and gambled?
If this happens more often (streaming and gambling at the same time), then you should switch to a 50 or 100 MBit / s DSL line, if technically possible (ask ISP!).
Thank you. No sooner did we have no netflix on it probably will be. I'll talk to my parents about it.
