I think the situation is clear. I want to watch Netflix on my phone, but it connects directly to the telly in the living room as soon as I open the app. What can I do against it?

In the iphone settings you can switch off that the mobile phone can connect to the TV.

It actually only connects when both devices are in the same WLAN network. So either turn off the TV or turn off the Wi-Fi on your cell phone.
