I wanted to get a new TV soon, mainly for gaming and Netflix. At the moment I like the LG Oled48CX best, if only because of its size, picture and gaming performance.
But I'm worried about the "burn-in" effect. I've heard that older OLED TVs were badly affected by such an issue, but what about the 2020 models? Is the risk of burn-in lower or is it still as high as it used to be? Has any of you had any experience with it? I really don't feel like babysitting my 1300 euro TV and turning down the brightness or constantly changing the program. If I'm already playing or watching something, it will be for several hours.
Is there perhaps a better alternative under 55 inches where you don't have to worry? Or was this problem better "solved" in the new models?
I have the 55CX and so far no problems. If you gamble for several hours (from 6 hours) in a row you have to turn down the OLED light in the settings, that is by default to 100. But if you only gamble for 3-4 hours at a time, nothing will happen, those things are at least designed for gaming. Believe me, buy this part you won't regret it, if you already have the PS5 or Xbox Series X, treat yourself to 120 FPS at CoD, that's gaming on a new level, I tell you.
Thank you.
