I'm looking for a new laptop. I want to do the following with it:

Programming (Java, C, R, Python),

Play sims 4,

Internet (Netflix, YouTube, research, Skype)

taking notes

Small video edits

I have already found a couple of laptops, but I'm very unsure because it is always advisable not to program and play games on one device. I'm very grateful for tips and experiences. Thank you!

P. S. The price does not matter at first, regardless of weight and size: As small and light as possible.

In fact, I would recommend a Surface for maximum flexibility. These are very light and the price is also very clear. I also program in IntelliJ myself and it works wonderfully on it. Sims 4 isn't a really challenging game either, so it should work too.

Otherwise, the Huawei Matebook 13 and 15 would also be a very good choice. But I always like to stick to surfaces because you invest once and then you have a great performance. ^^

Well, Surface Books (with dedicated graphics) are actually way too overpriced.

In view of the fact that the FS also wants to gamble occasionally, a gaming laptop for around 800 euro would be better, e.g. An Acer Nitro 5 or, if the design is to be a little more "restrained", e.g. A Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3i.

You really don't need a 2,000 euro laptop for programming and a little gaming…

This, of course, is yet another aspect. But she did say that the price doesn't matter and the weight should be as light as possible. That's why I immediately thought of the surfaces, as they are very light.
