Yes, you have to provide payment details immediately when you register for the trial month. Netflix wants to make sure that they get money from you if you forget to quit. But a bank account also works.
You just have to try it, but I think you need some kind of payment method so that you can't use a new email address every time and never pay, but if you don't have a credit card and still want to use Netflix, you can always use the gift card and I think even if you top up one and book a package you get another free month on top of it
