Ryzen 5 3600 too hot at 85 degrees Celsius?

I ordered a new PC and "experimented" a bit.
In normal operation (Netflix, Youtube, etc.) my processor is between 45 and 65 degrees Celsius, when I open new applications it usually even reaches 70 (but it cools down quickly).
But in GTA Online it can be up to 80-85 degrees Celsius. I don't know if that's too much or if it's still possible.
Thanks in advance.

My specs:

GTX 3060 ti without overclock
Ryzen 5 3600 without overclock
Xilence a250pwm cooler
Aerocool RGB gaming tower SHARD Tower
MSI B450M PRO-VDH MAX, AMD B450 motherboard
16GB DDR4-RAM PC-3000

85 degrees are not really ideal but still within limits

Maybe buy a new cooler on occasion

That is still in the normal range. You have to look at how hot laptop processors get.

Definitely too warm

How many fans do you have in the case?

And I would swap CPU coolers for Arctic Freezer Xtreme, the Xilence are not that great

I think I only have two fans in the case, but I'm not entirely sure

Simple calculation why your CPU unfortunately boils so high.

The CPU cooler has a TDP of 89 watts.

Your CPU has a TDP of 65 watts.

This means that you can only dissipate 24 watts of additional heat. But now comes the real problem that your CPU has a so-called boost clock which overclocks the CPU for a short time on one or more cores. At this moment, the CPU has seen a higher heat development than usual. But if the CPU on all cores is loaded at the same time, then the CPU may even need a TDP of over 100 watts.

That means you will definitely need a new cooling solution if you don't like the temperatures.

My recommendation would be this heat sink or something similar:

That's not enough. Rule of thumb nowadays: 2-3 (120s) scoop in the air at the front and one (120 or 140) to scoop out the back and then a good tower cooler for the CPU, then that fits

No

Well, it's not in the critical area yet, but it can be cooler. Would check your airflow in the housing and possibly improve it. And what I would definitely do would be a different CPU. Very good ones have already been mentioned here. The one I can recommend I installed myself would be the Bequiet Dark Rock slim.

It keeps my Ryzen 5 3600 at 70 to a maximum of 75 ° C in the stress test. A little cheaper than noctua and not much worse if your budget is tight.
