So far, Disney + "only" offers films from Disney, Marvel, Fox 20th Century Studios, etc., as they have the rights for them. But can it also be that in the future films will also be offered by Warner Bros, universal pictures etc. By simply being able to get the licenses for them temporarily, like Netflix too?
Disney + recently added "Star" to its range. Maybe there will be more to come at some point in the future
Does Star also offer other film studios that Disney don't already own?
Yes, there have been a lot of films, series and even originals. You can have a look on the internet to see what's there, or complete a trial month. I like to watch Star's Family Guy or the Star Original Solar Opposites
Many Thanks! I once looked on the Internet and Star's offer also includes films from Touchstone Studios, etc. So I doubt whether films or series from other larger studios such as Warner Bros. Universal pictures will be included in the future: /
Warner Bros. Is Disney's largest competitor and I can't imagine Disney supporting WB by purchasing their licenses.
Well the more diverse the offer, the more customers are likely to attract. Because Disney + has so far what I think is a very limited offer…
No, they will still not offer anything from other film studios.
There are also more films and series on Disney +.
Some of the studios now have streaming services themselves. They won't out-license any films to Disney.
It could be with the studios that don't have streaming services themselves, but I don't think so. There could be deals with Sony for the Spiderman films, or with Universal for the Hulk film. But as far as I know, they only want to rely on their own productions or on purchased productions to which they themselves have the rights.
