I'm not dealing with Netflix, but there are indeed good and "unusual" war films, "Winter War" about the Finns' fight against Russia in World War II, "Dunkerque" and "Hacksaw Ridge" you will know. "Unknown Soldier" is a great film about the Finnish / Russian war, "Hamburger Hill" is older, but still worth seeing. And hopefully you've already seen the "Band of Brothers" and "The Pacific" series. Very complex and historically correct, although a little Spielberg cream sometimes spills out of the television.
