So in my opinion you should start with TVD. The story behind it is very exciting and everything is included… Be it drama, romances, horror… Etc. You feel the series just so much ^^ The emotions that play with it are so heartbreaking. In addition, a sequence never gets boring, because there's always tension built in so that you can't stop and just have to keep looking! I can only recommend it to you.
Other series that I watched and found good:
Shadow Hunters ~ also one of my favorite series, you have to watch it
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina ~ also a very good story and a lot of excitement

Vampire Diaries starts off excitingly and well. Unfortunately, from the middle you don't know exactly where the whole thing should go. In the beginning you had 3 main actors. One woman, two vampires. Greetings from Twighlight. The problem with the series is that the main actress of the series is lost in the middle. In the series, she should only be with one vampire brother. In real life, she was with the second actor. The entire story was then rewritten on the two. But then they parted in reality and from then on Madame didn't want to join anymore and left. Perhaps there were other reasons. Who knows exactly. And right from the season, all the twists in the story begin. Madame has to keep talking, otherwise the story won't make sense. However, you are annoyed that she is gone. It is visibly missing, but is mentioned in every episode because everything revolves around it, even though it is not there. They can't get out of the number anymore, although they are trying desperately to give other actors a little more sense in the series. It is annoying. Nevertheless, one is willing to see the series until the end. She takes you with you. You're torn between annoying, and it's sooo exciting. But if you hope for the big love ending like in Twighlight, I have to disappoint you.
I found Riverdale really boring and I quit funny at some point.
I found the Denver clan quite good at the first episodes and then more and more boring, I ended up breaking off twice. I just can't make friends with it.
Vampire Diaries is the only one I've finished watching. In retrospect, the first season is unfortunately also boring, because nothing happens. But the seasons after that are really good, so it's worth it.
