I'm very fascinated by the pictures shown on the Netflix original series "Our Planet". However, I noticed that the pictures are almost too beautiful… None of the animals are bothered by the cameras, the animals run perfectly parallel to the camera work and in general, how do the teams find these animals? Something is not right there
I felt the same way when I saw the program. As far as I know, they record their pictures in absurdly high resolution from a distance and then later digitally stabilize and enlarge them. There are also making-offs if you google it afterwards.
Wildlife filmmakers almost always have to spend hours or days in hiding or wait for a really good shot. For 45 or 60 minutes you see animal filmmakers often sit for days and take a lot of shots. The best shots are then shown in a documentary. Today, they often have very good cameras and the recordings are also stabilized and well set.
That's right, just after finishing the episode I also saw that there's a making-of! Super handy, answer my questions pretty well.
Class performance, respect for the responsible teams.
