I've been worrying more and more about online security lately. Up to now I had two email addresses (one private and another) - unfortunately it got mixed up at some point. Mainly because of online services like Amazon, Netflix, etc.
Yesterday I got down to work and sorted everything out once - now I have 4 mail addresses + 2 aliases.
I feel a bit crazy, however, and wanted to find out how you sort and separate your mails.
Mine are now arranged as follows:
Private inbox for doctors, banks, finance (PayPal) and family
One for professional contacts, network and fee negotiations (because I work as an artist) - my public alias + another one for 3 social networks runs on this mail.
One for online e.g. Netflix, Amazon, Adobe subscriptions
A GMAIL for Spam and Google Services (Youtube)
But I'm not sure whether I have a higher level of security should a data breach occur anywhere. Because now all online service providers run into an inbox (with the exception of social media) - and when booking a flight I don't even know whether I should enter the online - or the private one - after all, it is connected to a lot of private data and then ends up in the same folder as Netflix. Oh, I always think about it (Haha!) Well, I would definitely be happy to know how you sort your emails - maybe then I will feel less crazy because my friends only have a single address for everything!
I think you definitely don't have to worry here. I also have a total of 4 email accounts.
school
Business
Games
Social media accounts
Sorted roughly similarly. I've been doing this for about 4 years and have never had any problems
Thank you very much.
I have a serious one for everything important. Then there are countless others for things like good question, for example, that has been going on for decades without any problems.
I have three pcs.
Two for me
And a mail is a b **** that everyone can use… I synchronized the net with me
For what a thousand addresses, you lose track of things
2 mailboxes and a corresponding number of aliases. The aliases as an address are evaluated in order to determine the target folder - this is how the mails go straight to the correct subfolder - this saves sorting work.
The advantage is that it is pre-sorted directly on the server, regardless of the client's capabilities.
Since IMAP supports any folder hierarchy, I can also classify it in: company / company name etc. Usf.
I have a total of 4 addresses, a main address for more official things, a second for various services such as Netflix and Co, a third for game accounts and a fourth that I use for other things that I can't include under the first 3.
I do very well with it and have a good overview of it, the individual addresses are still organized with various folders and the incoming mails are then stored directly in the correct folders.
It was a bit of "work" until the whole thing went clean, but the time invested was worth it because everything is now very clean and clear.
