I'm moving into my dormitory soon and my landlord said there was no cable connection for the Internet in the apartment. What do I have to look for? And how much Mbit should I use? I only have online lectures and that it's enough for Netflix & surfing. I don't know anything about it. Which provider has cheap packages?

How many GB per month do you need?

Iv

I can't assess it, but I have a 15 GB mobile phone contract and that is always used up very quickly every month

I had two days of video conference, about 8 hours each. I had a total consumption of 6 GB over the 4G network.

You can do your math now. With 30 days of video conference that would be…

If you also want to do live TV or video streaming (Netflix), then you need at least 10 Mbit / s download for HD streaming. If you want to do UHD streaming at least 30 Mbit / s is required in the download.

The requirements are lower for video conferences, 6 Mbit / s in the download is sufficient.

If it should be particularly cheap, https://eazy.de/ is very cheap.

Or look at https://www.verivox.de/internet/ to see what other Internet providers are offering. There are also particularly cheap tariffs for students (Young tariffs… Or similar, maybe Telekom…)

IMPORTANT! Check the availability of the provider beforehand to see whether they can even offer DSL or cable at your new address.
You have the advantage that you can use telephone (DSL) or cable connection for Internet, i.e. More possibilities!
