When I watch Netflix or Amazon Prime on the PC, the quality is always a little blurry.
I'm shown 1080p, but that doesn't feel like it.
When I look at the TV through the FireTV stick, the quality is great.
I actually have a good 27 inch, 144hz monitor that should do it 100%.
The panels in many "gaming monitors" are inferior to those of TVs. That could be where it came from. But the response time and input latency is higher for the TVs.
Alternatively, it may still be that you simply have a poorer Internet connection on the PC and the bit rate is therefore selected less.
It could also be a browser rendering problem or a driver problem (GPU).
Also possible, or the set desktop resolution is lower, and it is only scaled to 1080p.
Oh yes… The windows desktop scaling is rather meh.
You should leave everything on native and 100%.
