My family and I are not very familiar with these things, so I'm looking for advice here. We booked a new internet tariff (1000 Mbit / s), which was not even half as fast before. Now I have the problem that Netflix's quality has decreased immensely, although we have an HD subscription, which always worked perfectly with the old Internet tariff. The connection speed at Netflix is just over 0.5 Mbits per second, which is just the minimum! Have already looked in the playback settings and set it to "high", but it takes our Smart TV super long to load it first. (By the way: our TV is HD compatible, that's not the reason.) I'm really at a loss, with the old tariff everything worked. Maybe change something on the router?
Anywhere else do you have a higher speed?
What does a speed test say? (e.g. Speedtest.net)
In the room where the router is located, we all have great speed with a cell phone, and a laptop is also okay. In my room, however, not even booked 100 Mbit / s out of 1000. I already have Wi-Fi AC. But I can still handle that. However, the television with Netflix on it is also in the room where the router is, so it should actually work best. As I said, with the old, actually worse tariff, it always worked.
Then it could be the Internet provider who has problems connecting to Netflix.
Does Netflix not work on all devices or only on the TV? Then it's the TV.
Please also note that Wi-Fi is prone to interference and you will never receive your 1000Mbit / s.
The best connection is still by cable.
Then it has to be on the TV, Netflix continues to run in super quality on the laptops and smartphones. What can we do now? It doesn't make sense to buy a more expensive, better tariff, but then streaming no longer works on the television. Then why did it work with the worse one?
I can't tell you what about your TV.
But if it is in the room with the router, you can connect it by cable and test it again
Thank you, we try it!
