There are 4 seasons.

You can read the manga.
While I think seasons 1 and 2 are very good, re is not so successful with the anime mMn. Although I love the anime by and large.
I would start over with the manga.

There are 4 seasons tokyo ghoul the first 2 seasons are tokyo ghoul and the other two are tokyo ghoul re. After watching the first two seasons you MUST read the Tokyo Ghoul manga because there's more going on than in the anime btw. The tokyo ghoul manga has 14 volumes. According to the mangas you can choose whether you look tokyo ghoul re or just read the mangas from tokyo ghoul re btw. The tokyo ghoul re manga has 16 volumes.

As far as I know, more happens in the manga and the end is a bit different (the manga has not been around for a long time)
So if you really want to read it, I would buy all 4 levels.
It can confuse you if you start all of a sudden: I would also like to read Re but then I read the others.
