With VPN you can connect from different countries. Which country do most users choose? E.g. Switzerland because of the high level of data protection? Or USA because of Netflix? Are there any statistics?

VPN only makes sense if your VPN provider is good that it really tunnels it and doesn't just do it.

Then there are other aspects such as Z. If you are an Ö and would like to access the film archive in D (zdf) you need a German IP that makes sense.

I have Nord VPN, I think it's one of the most reputable. There are about 50 countries to choose from and I wanted to know out of curiosity which countries are preferred or which are avoided. Except for the example with ZDF ARD or Netflix.

I would say clearly in North America the USA because of Netflix, HBO etc. In Asia it could be Hong Kong because users from China connect to it (bypass firewall) or Taiwan, for their own sake. In Europe it is difficult to say due to the selection, but probably Germany due to the many inhabitants and solid infrastructure in Frankfurt, for example.

My picks are usually Germany (low ping), but also Singapore (good internet infrastructure) or our neighboring countries like Denmark or France.
