Why do I wake up at night with a headache?

I sometimes have phases where I wake up almost every night for several weeks and then have a headache (and sometimes a little dizziness).

It usually takes 2-4 weeks and then I have nothing at all for several weeks or even months.

I mostly watch youtube or netflix and after a few minutes it slowly gets better and after half an hour or so I can go back to sleep.

What can that be? Maybe someone here is familiar with it?

We

I'm not familiar with it, but I would talk to the family doctor about it because it could be a lot.

Ca

What?

We

Perhaps you have breathing difficulties when you are stressed so that you consume less oxygen

Ra

This is called a noble headache. They occur when the brain was previously poorly supplied with blood and is now suddenly well supplied with blood.

Did you drink enough before bed? Or has your blood drawn from the brain by some activity?

Be

Drink a large glass of cold mineral water with aspirin at night

or iboprofen

then back to bed and when you fall asleep the pain goes away

Ca

No, I drink a lot during the day (3-4 liters) and even more often at night when I wake up. I just went to sleep normally, I've had this for the last couple of nights…

Ca

I had already thought of that because breathing a lot makes it better faster… How does a doctor find out something like that?

Ca

I don't think it's healthy that daily for several weeks.

We

Sleep clinic watches you sleep and sees something

Ca

OK thanks

Fr

Can the headache come from lying down?

Do you get a headache when you fall asleep on the couch, in the garden or on the beach, for example?

Ra

You drink too much. As a result, the heart and kidneys have to do too much.

Ca

3-4 liters is really not that much now, I think…

Ca

Actually not because if I lie down while watching TV, for example, then I actually don't have that either. I suspect this is somehow due to wrong breathing or something because this morning I tried to lie down for a while after waking up and the headache went away so lying down

Fr

Then the headache for you has another cause, perhaps pauses in breathing or heavy chewing movements. A sleep laboratory could determine this, but you probably know that yourself. Hope that you can track down the cause soon and that you can do something about the headache.

Ca

Thank you.
