Tablet or used laptop?

My girlfriend's birthday is coming up and I had thought about buying her a laptop because she had wanted / wanted to buy one for a long time. Unfortunately, I only have around 200 euro.

You don't find a lot of good things there. That's why I thought of a used laptop.

Is it worth it? Do you have experience with it? Or would you prefer to buy a tablet?

She would mainly use the device to watch Netflix, surf the web and write letters from time to time.

What would you recommend? Budget laptop for 200 euro? A better one that is needed? Or a tablet? (Samsung Galaxy Tab a7)

Aw

If she really doesn't do anything else but watch Netflix etc. Then you can be satisfied with a 200 euro laptop.

my

I'd rather buy a new tablet that will probably last longer and is much more pleasant to surf and watch Netflix.

Well maybe gamble. But since I have an Xbox / ps4

Aw

You can then not gamble on the part.

Then do it on a console.

Unfortunately, thanks to a lot of home office, the prices for laptops and tablets have risen a lot since last year. The Samsung tablet will be available for 200 euro, but a decent used laptop will be difficult.

It's a bit stupid, but how about if you give her a voucher for the sum and she can then buy her dream laptop. You will certainly have planned a certain budget and so you can buy a decent model.

Giving you a tablet even though you want a laptop?
I don't think that goes over well. I would not do that.

On the other hand, you don't get a smart laptop for 200 euro.
I think there's more to do for 500 euro.

It depends on how much your girlfriend is worth to you, then I would try to borrow money (from my parents / grandparents / friends, for example) or I might give the gift together with someone.

Think that all of this is better than giving a tablet when she wants a laptop. You can't write really well with a tablet either. Watching Netflix is possible, but with a large TFT connected to the laptop, of course, Netflix is better to watch…

As a compromise I would take a Lenovo ideapad duet Chromebook. The device costs around 250 euro and is a tablet, which includes a free keyboard with a touchpad. Neither Windows nor Android runs on it. It's a Chromebook. Chrome OS is basically the desktop version of Android.

I think in the current situation it is not advisable to borrow money for such things… For rent or essential things yes… But for gifts?

I still work full-time, but my girlfriend works in the restaurant business, for example. She only gets the short-time work money.

I don't want to give anything too expensive because I know that she'll do that for me too… And I really don't want her to borrow money because of that.

I would also like to ride a Harley… But know nothing about motorcycles. It could be that I would enjoy a motorcross more.

I see it similarly with her too. The laptop is not necessary. And most of the things a laptop can do that a tablet can (just not as good) that's why I thought about a tablet…

Still, dabke for your opinion ❤️
