How do I connect my router correctly?

Hi, I have a router on the ground (Speedport) of the telecom stand.
The router I have closed by means of cable to a LAN can.
In the basement hangs the fiber optic modem and a switch.

In the upper floor I have also Lan cans and would like to connect the TV, for example, Netflix to look.
Unfortunately, I get in the floor unfortunately no signal.

How do I have to make the wiring correctly?

Ca

The order must be: House connection → Modem → Router → Switch → LAN doses.

Sn

I should probably. To mention that the electrician has no double Lan cans installed. Since I had no idea about it, I did not explicitly mention it to him

Sn

Does that mean I have to put my router in the basement? But then would most likely nowhere in the EC and OG + DG Wlan or?

Sorry for the questions, but I just have no idea.

I would prefer it, if I would get over the existing LAN doses an Internet signal on the Tvs / PCs

Unfortunately, this works only in the EC, where the router is synonymous

Ca

Then you need two lines between basement and EC - once from the modem to the router, once from the router to the switch.

Thank you for your answer. How can I do that without a double can? Currently there's only the possibility of router via LAN can to the modem. Then I connected the modem to the switch.

Ca

I'm afraid you have to try your electrician again. Or you buy the one access point and plug it into any tin where you need WLAN.

Sn

OK. So I summarized the following options. 1. The electrician comes again and looks that he uses a double box… 2. I put the router in the basement and to have WLAN in the remaining floors I use repeaters (access points)
Did I understand it correctly?

Ca

That's what I meant!

In the OG the line of the box must be connected to the router on the ground floor. Your home network also uses the DHCP function for all devices connected to your home network via the router.
