Series with a teacher and a soldier from the cavalry?

I'm looking for a series where a woman from the city moves very wealthily to a small village to be a teacher for a class and where she falls in love with a man who I think is called Cavalerie who dies afterwards. I watched the series at Netflix but don't know the title anymore I hope someone can help thanks
