Netflix no longer lets me set German?

For a few days my Netflix can only be watched in English and various other minor languages (which is included in the series, Spanish, French etc.) Only German seems to have been swept off the menu. I have not changed the location in any way, nor have I changed the settings. I've already tried it with a VPN but that doesn't seem to help either. Can anyone explain that?

I thought at first, but then I pulled up old series that were definitely watched in German and that don't work anymore.
