On Netflix, Hunter x Hunter has 3 seasons and seasons 1 and 2 have 26 and 12 episodes respectively whereas on other sites both seasons have over 40 and I have no idea whether what I'm looking at is right or whether it is correct in that order. Can anyone help me and tell me why that is?
Hunter X Hunter has only one season with 148 episodes. Some streaming providers just split it up.

It's not that unnecessary now. It would be stupid to scroll long through so many episodes. That's why there are sometimes divisions. Naruto e.g. Actually has no seasons either.
Yes, but jz went through the 3 seasons on netflix and wanted to go to bs. To keep looking but had absolutely no plan where to keep looking and had to look back on netflix for episode names and then on bs. To look for it. I prefer to scroll
