I see that a lot of people are streaming films on Discord and I checked whether this is allowed. The Internet says that it always matters whether it is legal or illegal in the country you are in.
My question now is: Is it forbidden to stream films on Discord in Germany? Because I would like to watch a movie with a few people on a server (either a movie on Netflix or a movie on DVD) and I wanted to ask if this is illegal?
If it is illegal, would there be other alternatives to watch a movie with others?
Well you can create a server and only send the link to your friends, then no one else can get in there and report you.
It is generally illegal (in almost all countries) to stream films for which you have no rights to be released. In Germany this is regulated by copyright.

Do you have the rights from the film? If not then it is not allowed.
The problem is that I don't know everyone from the server and therefore I don't want to risk it - but thanks anyway for the idea.
