I regularly watch my iPad Air Netflix and other streaming services and am completely satisfied with the picture quality and everything.
If you mainly use it for video consumption, the Galaxy Tab S devices do very well.
Cheaper options are the S5e tab or the S4 tab. The Tab S6 Lite is not a recommendation for films.
As the newest and most expensive option, the Galaxy Tab S6 can also be recommended. On August 5, the Galaxy Tab S7 comes with an additional Plus variant. The price won't be cheap.
They all have an AMOLED display with QHD resolution in a 16:10 ratio. The 16:10 display is much better than the 4: 3 ratio of most iPads. The iPads have much thicker black bars.
Netflix HDR playback is also supported. The resolution is limited to FullHD with Netflix and Prime Video.
The quad speakers are also very good for the video experience.
Whether the image quality of the selected tablet is better than that of your smartphone depends on the selected tablet and smartphone.
