I own a somewhat older television, although it is a flat-screen television, it is just one of the older generations. Now I wanted to watch Netflix etc. And have no idea how I can do it… Is there e.g. A USB stick that you can then run over the receiver?
No, it is not possible with a USB stick. With a Fire TV Stick from Amazon, I have one myself and the operating system of the (adapted Android) is better than with my Smart TV. If it is on offer, it costs around 20 to 25 euro.
If the TV has an HDMI port, it works. TVs that are older than around 2007 do not have one. You have to use the connections (rarely VGA, often SCART). There are often no devices for them.
If it has an HDMI port, there are several solutions, such as a Google Chromecast (40 euro) or a Fire TV Stick, possibly also an Apple TV
