Is netflix free for 1 month?

With the hope of not paying until the 2nd month, I made a netflix account 3 days ago. Then I go to my account and see that it has been debited by netflix international B.V. (also have no idea what that is). Could it be that there's no longer a trial month or is it probably because I gave my cousin my account? (she lives in turkey)
