Then I got the idea that it was legal and I found out that it was illegal. Of course I didn't use a VPN or anything. Can I get legal ramifications now? How likely is that? And if so, what are the consequences?
This is certainly not legal, but I wouldn't have any major concerns about a minute.

You can always get ramifications for what is illegal. So it's the same as if you steal something in the store you take something without paying for it as well in the series even if you only watched for 1min but I guess the presses at 1min's eyes are closed and you get punished without it but punished can you.
@Deepdiver I just remembered something overnight that I completely hid yesterday: Even after I started the series for 1 min, I looked through the series charts and downloaded about 15 series so as not to forget the names. Until I noticed that this was illegal, about 2-3 episodes were completely downloaded. The rest were still in the queue. Does that have completely different consequences and such?
The consequences do not change. Just the amount of the sentence. If you have downloaded series illegally, it is a completely different situation than you have described so far.
