Hello today I looked at Your Name twice because it came out in German in Netflix, after a few minutes as Mitsuha in her class the teacher looked just like the one from Garden of Words and the doer is the same one of the anime Movies and at the end of Garden of Words, she had also changed the school.
So you think it is or not or has it been proven or confirmed somewhere?
that would mean playing both movies in the same universe and possibly the next and previous works by Makoto Shinkai.

The director joked in an interview that he just put the teacher in Your Name so he can meet her voice actress Kana Hanazawa again. He then added the statement, claiming that her performance is only a fan service.
Still, they can't be the same teacher, as they do not all have the same home - Imabari (Garden of Words) and Itomori (Your Name)
