I would be interested to know what your favorite K-dramas are (provided you are watching K-dramas).
I haven't watched that many yet, but my top 3 are:
Crash landing on you
Cinderella and the four Knights
My Secret, Terrius
What are / is your favorite K-drama / K-drama & why do you like it so much?
By the way, I'm currently watching Cheese in the Trap on Netflix & Goblin on Viki
So I love "My first first love" there you can see strong friendships and a lot of drama. I don't like the ending so much, but otherwise I found it very exciting ^^
Of course, it always depends on what interests you (and what annoys you) and what genre you look at. I personally like plots that introduce a different reality and then remain traceable within this constructed fictional world, encounter the consequences of the setting and make you think. Stories with a good flow that ultimately put all the threads together and remain exciting. I find illogical actions and incomprehensible events disturbing.
When I looked at it, the most fascinating thing about its type and structure was "Goblin". I found the storylines between the first and second leads successful. The premise between the two main male characters that two people each receive a penalty, the opposite, each wishing what the other has and feels their own as the worse choice, I found that exciting. The female lead is not a complete mouse, even when she is young.
Kill me heal me might be my favorite if it weren't for this annoying female lead who can't decide whether to be a serious doctor or a screeching teenager. But it is worth it for the male lead alone, the versatility is amazing and one always wonders what comes next. Exciting to the end.
"The beauty inside" I found an ingenious setting, something different and well executed. You wonder how you would deal with such a situation yourself. Here, too, one always wonders what will come next
I also found "Masters Sun" a success, it has good story development, moves between genres and remains exciting.
Finally I found "Thirty but Seventeen" worth seeing, too, which is something to be expected other than the title.
Of the non-romantic series, "Signal" is exciting if you like time travel plots. "Dele" as a Japanese series was cool too.
But there are so many more, the choice is difficult. Healer, You who came from the stars, You're beautiful, I'm not a robot, Personal taste, Legend of the blue sea, Faith / the great doctor, Oh my Venus, Coffee Prince, Bride of Haebaek, Another Miss Oh, Just between lovers, are you human too? - the list is not going to end and there are always new ones…
Right from the start, I was enchanted by the narrative style and the other storylines of the Asian dramas. Since the stories come from a different culture, they fall back on other narrative traditions. I personally also like the cinematic implementation with fewer dialogues and a lot more facial expressions and implicit basic currents. And then the ends are not always as clear as in the US series. Of course, there's usually a happy ending, but not always and not always as comprehensive. In the end, not everyone is happy, for some characters things don't go as desired. I also think it's good that the dramas are usually designed for one season. Many US series like to leave open the possibility of a sequel and tend to unfinished storylines, which I find annoying. In contrast, US series now seem one-dimensional and predictable. Here the characters tend to be more determined and it is examined how this character draws on his experiences and traits in the face of resistance and overcomes him, not how the situation shapes the character. Of course, there are always counterexamples, but that's how it seems to me
The descendants of the sunset.
I like action, I like medicine, I like drama.
Apart from that, I like that the main couple separate at the beginning only to get together again
Wow thank you for your detailed answer! I will definitely watch a few of the above mentioned ^^ at Goblin I'm currently in episode 2, so not that far yet.
