After a long period of inactivity I have a question for the general public:
I still have 3DS games flying around at home, but my two consoles are both scrap and I sold one too.
Thinking about whether I should not even get the New 3ds xl, somehow it tickles me somehow, even if my last 3ds rumlag before the defect synonymous nurnoch.
Have since 2018 an unpatched switch, so play it rarely, rather I let Android run on it and use the switch as a tablet for music, Netflix, etc.
Maybe the homebrew scene on the 3ds has become interesting meanwhile?
Otherwise, for what price can I strike, what are these things still worth?
I think there are now newer and better consoles for a similar price. Accordingly, I would prefer something else.
The prices are currently around 150 euro

I installed SoundHax Luma3DS back then. Result: All games for free and even exclusive Japanese games in English (Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3).
Since I was an absolute fan of the series, I was really happy.
Therefore, to buy a new device, well. Currently I have no entry points known, or did not have to test more and only knows that quite a few were closed.
But in the end, it's pretty open. I would not say yes or no, as there are pretty great exclusive titles for the (new) 3DS.

Hmm I know the whole thing from BrowserHax times, when the whole thing came out slowly.
I realized then that GBA emulators were practically useless and it was again uninteresting.
But the main reason would be the games,
Homebrew might be interesting for emulators, but I have the Nintendo Switch with Android - without homebrew hacks and ban without a ban still a system!
Hmm yes they are probably worth it, the orig. 3DS then went new for 150 euro over the counter.
The New 2ds xl at least starts at 100 euro.
But think that even hardly worth it.
I have my 3DS in front of me I believe two years or so gejailbreaked. Still not banned and with its own applications on the system. Can even generate my own Pokemon on the 3DS itself.

There are already enough banned consoles due to homebrew.
What exactly triggers a spell, one does not know exactly.
Whether the execution of homebrew enough, or only from the modding of the OS, the savegames or even cheats dad trigger.
That's why I think the Android port is worth gold - it does not manipulate games, not the console OS, and by nature does not pirate Switch games because Android can't do that.
The eMMC is also encrypted and unreadable for Android.

Basically I just wanted to say that 3DS CFW is relatively harmless and much more powerful.
The homebrew scene is really good on the 3DS! I speak from experience!
There are currently free options Homebrew or rather more likely to install custom firmware
