I got my mother's TV, which is a few years old. It is the LG M2232, so not a Smart TV. When I recently went through the channels, I found Netflix under "unknown channel", but only the Netflix start screen was shown to me. I then connected the WLAN cable to the receiver and switched on the WLAN under network settings. Now I'm no longer shown as the start screen. Basically I would not care, I just wonder that I have Netflix as a channel without Smart Tv and installation and therefore wanted to ask if anyone knows how I could use Netflix?
I checked that the device was launched in 2013 and Netflix in Germany only a year later.
It is possible that the Netflix app is on the TV, but is now so out of date that it no longer works.
With the Google chromecast or Amazon Firestick, however, it is still possible to watch Netflix using a smartphone or tablet. At least the rather old TV has an HDMI connection. Now through the Corona most shops are of course closed to get chromecast or firestick, maybe larger supermarkets like Kaufland, Edeka or real have something like that.
