Is the 2nd Generation Fire TV Stick compatible with the Echo Dot 3rd generation?

I'm setting my smart home right now and would like to tell Alexa to "play XYZ on Netflix" and "XYZ" will start streaming on my TV. Do I need the new Fire TV Stick or does the second generation work?

I think it works that way, but I'm not sure
