How about the GEZ?

I got a television today and now my mother said that we still have to register the television for the GEZ. And now comes my problem:

It often says on the Internet that there's no longer a GEZ. But it also says that you have to pay GEZ for every apartment, no matter how many devices (television and radio) you have. My mother thinks that you have to pay for each device individually (e.g. 2 devices = 2 times GEZ). I'm totally confused now.

What is correct now?

And do you have to register a television, even if you are not watching TV but only Netflix and YouTube?

Cl

You now pay once for the entire household, not per device. So if your mother pays contributions to the broadcaster, that's enough.

Ch

That no longer means GEZ and it is no longer a question of whether or how many televisions you have.

The license fee is due for every household, regardless of whether you actually use the offers or not.

Av

The license fee is paid once per household. In contrast to before, you can have as many receivers in your apartment as you want. The broadcasting fee (formerly "GEZ" fee) is currently 17.50 euro per month and is debited from the account by direct debit.

Ma

Yes The broadcasting fee (formerly GEZ) is still there
Register once and only once a month. Pay, even if you have several devices in your household / possession.
Whether you look or not does not matter, but you could look.

What your mother says is nonsense. If one of your family is already paying, the other members don't have to pay anything, it doesn't matter how many TVs you have.

Only one person per household has to pay and not per television. Show her where you can read so she can see / read that has to be paid per household and not per TV.
