Model name: SONY BDV E6100
Connections: SPEAKERS (6 pieces) --- TV (DIGITAL IN OPTICAL) --- LAN (100) --- HDMI (OUT) --- AUDIO IN L / R --- connection for (FM) ANTENNA --- and on the front there's also a (USB) port --- The device also has Bluetooth and Internet via WLAN / LAN
Now I use the device on my cell phone via Bluetooth. But I couldn't connect it to my PC. Main uses would be a few Spotify, Netflix, and a few computer games.
is 5.1 sound transferable with Bluetooth / AUDIO IN L / R?
Can I transfer via USB connection 5.1?
Does your PC have an optical output on the mainboard?
SPDIF is then usually on the sound card.
Then you can buy a cable for it and connect the system to the PC.
So, your computer has one element that is responsible for the sound, namely the sound card.
You have to look at this connection and find out whether your home theater system is compatible with it. Exemplary scenarios would be:
optical audio output (has almost every onboard sound card)
Jack to chinch adapter
My mainboard has no SPDIF connection. Is it worth buying a sound card for this?
Neither have a chinch plug and my mainboard also has no optical output. (I think my mainboard is called the asus h97-plus or 87-plus). So would you rather get a new sound card or mainboard here?
According to the instructions, the system receiver has a chinch input. You can connect this from your jack plug of your sound card with an adapter, which costs a few euro
Oh sry confused the connector.
Something like that? https://www.amazon.de/...00LM2Y2U4/
According to the comment, I would only be able to connect stereo. Is there a way with surround sound? Would that be the SPDIF connection?
Exactly, the cable is correct.
If you want surround sound you need a connection that can transmit these different channels. Of the available connections, that would only be HDMI
Ok so: PC with HDMI to Receiver = 5th Surround
All other connections from the PC to Receiver = Stereo?
HDMI does not have to work in general. It also depends on whether your graphics adapter loops through the audio signal.
In other words: Do you actually need 5.1 for occasional use on a PC?
If that is not a big effort, I would like to take it with me. But with HDMI to receiver I try what mihc is confused here because there's output on the receiver. I'll write right away whether it works with HDMI
If I connect both to HDMI, the receiver or its speaker is not recognized as an output device: /
