I'm moving out to study soon, but unfortunately I'm going to move to an apartment where there's no internet. Since I will need this but for the study (and let's be honest, synonymous for Netflix and co.), I'm currently trying to get the lowest possible rate.
My biggest problem is that I have no idea what is advisable? What speed should it be, so that pages on the Internet do not need minutes to load? And how much Internet (ie GB) makes sense? What other tips do you have for me?
A 50 line should actually be a minimum standard. Unfortunately we live in Germany.
Pure for surfing, so research, news, etc., everything except video streaming quasi, you should be sufficient few GB. Since 5GB are usually quite good.
Of course, you can't answer that with streaming without knowing how much you look.
Do you want to stream over cellphone / tablet or you grow a landline?
So I get along well with 50Mbit / sec… 300GB / month should be enough…
for a bit of video and so theoretically enough 10Mbit / sec…
Landline: Take something from 50 Mbit. Although 16 MBit is sufficient, but that costs just as much. Volume limit is not available in the fixed network.
Mobile: look for a data plan that is also available to you. Everything else controls your budget. Streaming consumes a lot. 4G router is already cheap from around 50 € (or already with the data plan). If the volume is used up, you can usually still book volumes. Costs more then stop, but for the beginning is perhaps the method to estimate their own consumption.
The Telekom offers, for example, a data plan without volume limitation, e.g. From somewhere 80 euro on.
I suspect that a landline connection should fit better.
The budget variant is 16 Mbit / s. A data limit exists i.d.R. Not. Look at cable Germany over.
