I found the series really good and can only recommend them

I'm currently watching Mr. Sunshine

This is a K drama (Korean). It is about Eugene Choi (or Choi Yujin), who was born the son of slaves and whose parents were killed by the "owners". He escaped to America and lived there as Eugene for 30 years until he was transferred to his home country (there's war: Joseon (his home country) is claimed by several countries, primarily Japan, and America is supposed to help Joseon) and there Go Ae-sin who is the granddaughter of a wealthy man and who fights for the army of the righteous (this is an organization that Joseon wants to protect from Japan and other countries).

I just love the series. All characters are represented so well - especially the hate characters who want the plague on their necks. And I also like that, despite the love that arises between the two protagonists, the "main story" is never disregarded.

I still need 2 episodes and I don't dare to continue watching xD because I don't want it to be over

And btw the action takes place in 1871 and then 1904-1907
