Hi. I heard today that Netflix now supposedly wants to intervene if accounts are shared by determining whether the IP address is being shared.
For me it is now like this: I live in an apartment in a two-family house which belongs to my parents who in turn use the other apartment. Both apartments (mine and my parents') have the same internet connection. We use the Netflix family subscription. No problem because both apartments have the same IP address. How is it now when I go on vacation and want to log into my Netflix account on the TV or stay with friends? Doesn't it work anymore because it is a different IP address or do I have to enter a code that was sent to the stored e-mail, as mentioned?
Please provide helpful answers.
So far you only have to enter the code, regardless of the IP as far as I have heard.
Does that mean when my father (account holder) receives the code I have to enter it and I can look?
Yes it should be like that.
Yes that works
If they really want to do something about it then they don't go to IP addresses but to the Mac addresses of the devices.
In other words, you can then, for example, activate 5 devices that you can watch with an ACC and then it's over.
