Why was Tyler Down the only one who was hated (13 reasons why)?

I recently watched the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why and I don't understand why all the people who were on the tapes stuck together and Tyler was disfellowshipped. I'm aware that he did something bad but so did the others and yet he is labeled a psychopath and everyone else has been forgiven. Besides, Tyler was the only one who testified the whole truth in court and realized he'd made a big mistake.

Tyler was branded an idiot from the start, even before the tapes. People hated him for no reason and made him sorry for nothing.

I felt really sorry for him from the start. Tyler is my favorite character and I really think it's a shame that he was bullied by everyone for no reason. Especially when Clay sent the picture of him, I felt very sorry for him because it only got him more problems and probably thought that Clay was something of a friend…
