So about 3 weeks ago I connected a free Netflix subscription for a month so I chose premium. Everything was fine, I stated it by direct debit. After a day, my Netflix no longer worked because something did not work with the payment method, at least I then canceled my subscription, it was just a trial anyway. Then I got an extract from the bank sent home, which said that money was withdrawn from my bank, which I don't understand. The problem is that I can no longer cancel it because I no longer have the account. I don't know the name of the account or anything, because I had canceled it and therefore didn't use it. My mother said I should send an email to Netflix confirming that I had canceled again, but that's not possible because I no longer have the account. I now consider that money will be withdrawn from my bank again, if I could watch Netflix films at least it would be OK, but then I would not pay 15 euro per month for anything. I don't know if my problem could be understood, but if someone understood it they could maybe tell me how I can prevent the money from being withdrawn from my bank because I don't even use it
PS: I'm still, relatively, young and do not earn a lot of money now, which is why 15 euro are a lot for me every month
Buying vouchers from Netflix in the store is also possible, I use them and always buy them so that it lasts for 3 months (approx. 30 euro) but you have to switch from direct debit to voucher your account
If you have completed a subscription and have stored your account details, the money will be charged every month in the future until you cancel.
Restore your account and cancel the subscription. Even if you do not know the name of the account, you will still have the associated email address and you can use it to restore it.
Is stupid because you can no longer cancel it I would just try to log into the account again, but if you don't know your password or just can't get in, I would send Netflix an email describing your problem. If you know what email address you have given, you can also enter it in the message to Netflix, maybe they will go to your account and can help you
The first thing to understand is how a direct debit works.
Basically, you give Netflix permission to withdraw money from your account…
"I hereby allow netflix to withdraw 15 euro per month"
Netflix goes to your bank with this so-called direct debit authorization and says: Look, I can withdraw - and then get money.
Now you have two options to stop it.
1. Call your bank and say: I would like to revoke all direct debit authorizations that you have from Netflix for my current account.
(This is even retroactive, so you can get the 15 euro back)
2. You send netflix an email with your name, your bank account, your birthday:
I hereby revoke the direct debit authorization with immediate effect. I would be very happy to receive a written confirmation.
Netflix has a phone number. Call there and describe it, you will get a response immediately and do not have to wait for mails forever.
