Historical K dramas?

I finished Mr. Sunshine yesterday and would like to continue with historical K-dramas. There are already a few on my list: Ashes of Love, Eternal Love - but I have no idea what to start with or which one is good and recommended.

Hence my question to those who have Netflix and / or have already seen these K-dramas: which one can you recommend or which historical K-dramas on Netflix can you recommend at all?

ja

There are many good historical K dramas, some on Netflix and / or Viki. For example, I liked:

Queen in Hyuns Man
Moon embracing the sun
100 days my prince
Queen for seven days
Moon Lovers: Scarlett Heart
The Tale of Nokdu
Jewel in the Palace
Love in the moonlight
Faith / the great doctor
The thief who stole the people
Gunman in Joseon
The Princesses Man
Sunkyunkwan scandal
Hwarang
Empress Ki
Kingdom
Iljimae
JIN (J)
The Untamed (C)

Some of them have mystery / supernatural elements, no idea whether they are suitable for you. At My Drama List you can read the summaries and reviews (spoilers) if you are interested. At Flixable you can see if they are at Netflix, I'm not sure of everyone https://de.flixable.com/

Ashes of love is very long like many C-dramas, in my opinion it became more exciting after the first quarter. But not bad as a story. Eternal Love is also very long, I personally found it a little better, what to cheer for, but of course that also has its lengths.

Ahh understand. I was already surprised about the length, that keeps up with Meteor Garden.

Did you happen to see the historian, my country or my only love? They also sound very good, but I haven't found anyone who could recommend this to me.

And Kingdom is really good, I started it, but since so much blood and zombies are not good for me and my sleep, I watch the consequences in long intervals xD

Ev

I was the last to watch Hwarang, it was great (even if not historically 100% correct) :)

But that doesn't work on Netflix xD and since my storage space is bursting at the seams I have no Viki and can't watch xD trz thanks

ja

I agree with Kingdom, although the story is not bad, the level of blood is unnecessary. A "bad guys" effect unfortunately…

I didn't think rookie historian was bad, but the drama is developing slowly, you need a little patience. Even though it has the typical elements of the genre, it's not that heavy-hearted. The female lead makes the drama worth seeing. All in all okay, but not in the front row in my opinion (and everyone has a different point of view).

"My only love song" was one of the first K-dramas I've ever seen * haha * It had such animated effects in the beginning that I personally don't like. Nevertheless, I liked the whole thing very much, it has a good balance between serious and fun and gets better and better over time. Especially the second male lead is great, the female lead role is sometimes a bit annoying and exaggerated. The plot has its holes and not everything is always smooth, but I would still give the drama a chance, it's such a happy thing, maybe quite a good counter to "Kingdom":)

I don't know "My Country", I'm not quite so interested in Art Plot. I'm not a fan of primarily political historical dramas with extensive political intrigue.

I thought Mr. Sunshine was great, too, because of these political aspects, but the end really put me down xD I cried myself to sleep yesterday xD

Kingdom itself is really great, but I already had 1 nightmares xD after episode 1, so I rarely watch it, preferably during the day

Since I only have Netflix, I can't say much about the K dramas on Viki. I started Goblin, but I can only look at my cell phone and I don't have much space xD but SD cards are too expensive for me xD

ja

Goblin is one of my favorite personal dramas, the dynamic between all the characters is great and I like the conflicting aspects. "Kill me Heal me" is also great and "Masters Sun". "I'm not a Robot is something different. Oh, there are so many…

Mo

I only saw very few historical dramas, because I have to be in a very special mood so that I feel like them.

Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo
Hwarang
The Tale of Nokdu
Queen for Seven Days
The Crowned Clown
jackpot

I think of them, but I haven't seen them all. Actually only The Tale of Nokdu, lol.

I also went after rating. So what was often suggested to me or generally has a high rating.

I don't think any of them are on Netflix

The next time I write it with Netflix in the question title so that it is not constantly overlooked xD trz thank you ^^

Mo

I've already read it, but theoretically you can also use Viki on a laptop / PC, just have to turn off the ad blocker.

Maybe you don't have one, I didn't think about that. If that's the case, then I'm sorry ^^ "

I can only watch it with my cell phone ^^ my laptop is too old for that. All good ^^

Mo

I think you can use Viki without the app, but I'm not 100% sure. Can you give it a try?

Wa

My darling: 100 Days my prince, but I watched Rakuten Viki.

If you like zombies: Kingdom (on Netflix)

Wa

Oh wow Thanks for this comment, my Kdrama list, what I have to look at has just quadrupled XD

Ev

Sure it works on Netflix.

Hwarang runs on Viki and not on Netflix

Ev

So I saw it on Netflix. And it is still available.

Ad

I just checked for safety and there's no hwarang.

Ev

Even if it sounds complex: change your language setting at netflix to English (this only changes the menu language) and search again.

I recently noticed that you can't find some other things, e.g. B. Strong girl do bong-soon.

Ad

That will not do. I only have a snorkel account. The Acc belongs to my best friend, I can't just change anything, the Acc is also used for children and his best friend uses it too

Ev

Then I can't help you. I have hwarang on Netflix. Why you don't see it, I don't know: /

Alright, I'll just get my cell phone with twice as much storage space when my contract expires xD
